Alla Prima Pochade continues to be the very best travel pochade box for me. I believe this is my fourth box, and I simply cannot travel without one! Ben’s craftsmanship and attention to detail are unbelievable.
I have traveled all over the world with my little 6 x 8 box, and I recently purchased an 8 x 10. I’m so excited to paint my studies a little larger.
I own many pochade boxes, but I love how easily this one slips into a shoulder bag with my paper towels and brushes. I can sit at a café anywhere in the world and immediately get to work. I have painted at cafés, by the beach, beside lakes, and even on European river cruises. I have had the most wonderful time traveling and painting with my Alla Prima box.
I highly recommend it. It has truly become an essential part of my travels as an artist.
Thank you, Ben, for creating such a beautifully crafted pochade box!
Love everything about this. Craftmanship is next level
I’ve had my eye on the Blackfoot for years and finally decided to buy one to use when I retire. Love the setup and the quality!
This easel was well worth the wait. I did many hours of research on pochade boxes and Alla Prima had the best on the market for craftsmanship, versatility, and efficient design. I love how it is all in one. My husband is a mechanical engineer and he was impressed with the design. Shop American and buy something high quality.
I’m thrilled to review Ben’s meticulously conceived and crafted pochade. He’s taken everything into consideration that one might require for ease and stability in painting en plein air. The pochade is itself a piece of art, humble in the best sense, And when I needed mine in a hurry, Ben generously made it happen. (Even the wrapping was meticulous—with a bit of humor wadded into the cartoons keeping everything in place en route.) If you’re hesitating,…don’t!
